Describe the job, choose your area, and give the nearest major cross streets—not your exact address.
Better Handled finds qualified local businesses, contacts them for you, and sends three independent responses directly to your inbox.
Three local responses. Zero sales calls.
You get the responses. They don’t get your information.
START YOUR PRIVATE REQUEST →Describe the job once. We’ll seek three independent responses from qualified local businesses and email them directly to you.
Describe the job, choose your area, and give the nearest major cross streets—not your exact address.
We identify qualified businesses closest to your cross streets, call them, and work outward until three respond.
Three independent responses arrive in one email. Contact anyone you choose, request three more, or do nothing.
Finding it can take hours. We do the searching, calling, and credential checking—starting with qualified businesses located closest to your selected cross streets.
Less searching. Less waiting. Three qualified local responses.
Payment status, response price, advertising, or preferred placement never determines geographic priority.
We identify the applicable California contractor classification and check that the license is active.
Businesses must meet our published insurance requirements for the service requested.
Businesses must meet the Better Business Bureau standard stated in our selection policy.
We begin with verified operating addresses closest to your cross streets and continue outward as businesses decline or do not complete a response.
San Diego Handled is a Better Handled service that helps customers receive independent responses from qualified local businesses without broadcasting their identity and contact details as a sales lead.
You submit one private request. We determine the appropriate type of business, apply our published qualification standards, and begin contacting the qualifying businesses we identify closest to your selected cross streets. We continue outward until three completed responses are received, then email all three responses to you together.
Home and property repairs, painting, cleaning, junk removal, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, pest control, inspections, maintenance, stocking, event needs, and many other local services. If you are not sure who to call, submit the request and describe the outcome you need.
No. Submitting a request and receiving the three responses is free for the customer. Some responding businesses may pay Better Handled a fixed response-delivery fee. That fee does not affect selection order, geographic priority, presentation, or whether you hire the business.
No. Contact any business you choose, request three additional responses, or do nothing. Better Handled does not select a winner for you.
We first identify businesses that meet the published licensing, insurance, BBB, and other requirements for the request. Qualifying businesses are contacted in order of proximity between their verified operating address and your selected cross streets. If a business declines, is unavailable, does not respond, or does not complete its response, we continue outward.
We contact the qualifying businesses we identify—not necessarily every eligible business in the county. A free or paid response never changes a business’s eligibility or priority.
Requirements depend on the service. Where California law requires a contractor license, we verify the active license and appropriate classification. We also apply our insurance and BBB standards and confirm a genuine operating business location. Verification is factual screening, not a guarantee of future work.
You will receive three independent provider responses. Depending on the request and available information, a response may be a fixed price proposal, an estimate with a price range, or an offer to conduct an onsite inspection or diagnostic visit. Any disclosed inspection fee and credit terms appear in that business’s response.
The business may explain why an inspection is needed, disclose its inspection or diagnostic fee, state whether that fee is credited toward future work, list the credit conditions, and offer appointment availability. If you are interested, you decide whether to contact that business directly and arrange the inspection.
No. Each response is authored by the business. Better Handled supplies the standardized form, checks that required fields are complete, preserves a time-stamped copy, and relays the response unchanged. We do not set prices, write scopes, negotiate terms, rank responses, or decide which provides the best value.
They may. A business may receive introductory responses at no charge and later pay a fixed, pre-disclosed fee to deliver a completed response. The fee does not depend on the job price, whether you contact the business, or whether it is hired. Whether a response is free or paid never affects geographic priority.
They may receive your request description, selected neighborhood, nearest major cross streets, timing, uploaded photos or files, and other job information you submit. They do not receive your name, email address, phone number, or exact street address.
Cross streets provide enough approximate location to begin with nearby businesses while keeping the exact property private. A precise address can be given directly to a business later if you choose to proceed.
No. We use your email only to communicate with you and deliver the responses. Your email is not shown to potential businesses unless you later give permission or contact a business directly.
Each response identifies the business and explains the next step. You may contact it directly, or ask Better Handled to release the information you authorize. Any inspection, appointment, contract, deposit, payment, warranty, or scheduling agreement is made directly between you and the business.
You can request three more. Use your original Better Handled request number so we can exclude the first set and continue with additional qualifying businesses farther from your cross streets.
List it in the optional “Companies not to contact” field. We will exclude that company from the request.
We will tell you. We do not manufacture responses, lower the standards, or present an unqualified business merely to reach three.
